Introduction:
This is the Official Web Site for the office of Richard T. Herrick, MD.
Any duplication of some parts of the site is strictly prohibited, without the written consent of the Web Master.

Doctor Herrick's perspective and approach is influenced by the research He conducts on an ongoing basis-from pioneering work in cartilage regeneration and replacement to ligament repair and surgical instrumentation.

Doctor Herrick has found that most injuries can be treated without surgical intervention. Based on the diagnosis, a surgeon and the therapists implement a customized rehabilitation training program designed to be performed at home, gym or health club. A massage therapist may be used for treatment. Depending on the nature of the injury, exercise, braces, orthotics or medication, chiropractic care, physical therapy or other modalities may be prescribed. Doctor Herrick has found continuous passive motion (CPM), electrical stimulation and ice compression can also be helpful in speeding recovery.

If surgery is required, most operations are performed at the outpatient surgery facility where Dr. Herrick and his surgical team have developed extensive expertise.
